Enabling excellence in clinical examination…

Founded in 2008, BromptonPACES provide intensive, weekend-long, lecture & practical-demonstration based revision courses aimed at final year medical undergraduates and clinical MD students.

Unlike many other final year revision courses, the BromptonPACES course is organised and run exclusively by experienced medical registrars with a proven track record in medical education.
The highest-yield learning I’ve experienced throughout my five years at medical school…

In the run up to end-of-year exams, medical students often spend hours trawling the wards, desperately in search of elusive medical signs that may, or may not, appear in the actual exam. One of the major reasons for poor performance in clinical OSCEs is lack of a structured and systematic approach to performing clinical examination and case discussion.

We aim to provide all BromptonPACES attendees with a structured systematic approach to the clinical examination routine and case discussion so that under the stressful situation of an OSCE examination, they are able to perform well. Each session will start off with a practical demonstration of the ‘perfect’ examination routine by the BromptonPACES faculty - sections of the examination are then discussed and put in the context of potential OSCE cases - the latter half of each lecture covers all the potential OSCE/Viva scenarios.

With applications for foundation year posts becoming more competitive, good performance in final examinations is becoming increasingly important. BromptonPACES aims to give you the edge over your peers - passing your exams is not enough, BromptonPACES will help you ace them!
Excellent and comprehensive. Lots of good lateral thinking. Excellent advice about technique, especially about what most students trip up on. Going beyond the basics….
